Providing food, fun and friendship
for families across Harlow and the surrounding area during school holidays.
The Harlow Holiday Lunch Clubs Network is an initiative of Harlow Churches working together with a group of voluntary sector organisations, supported by local authority bodies and businesses, all working together to provide great fun and food for families during school holiday periods. Throughout the COVID19 outbreak, we also been provided support direct to families' homes through out 'Box of Hope' scheme.
2022 - we are offering FREE Lunch Clubs again for families in every school holiday including Half Terms - children must be accompanied by an adult but working families can nominate another family member or friend to bring them - all ages from babes to seniors welcome!

Harlow Churches are delighted to also be partnered with Transforming Lives for Good/Make Lunch and to use the services of Changing Lives Harlow; the Red Balloon Foundation and a number of local agencies or individuals to deliver more interesting sessions with support and advice as well as fun, food and fitness during our family lunch clubs across town during the school holidays (including Half Terms). We have grants and donations of various kinds at different times from Essex ActivAte; Heart4Harlow churches; Harlow Council/Rainbow Services; Foodbank & Bounty Club; Asda Community Fund and other generous donors to whom we are most grateful. All our church helpers (those who welcome you and chat and cook) are volunteers.
Whole families of all ages from babies to seniors are welcome along with anyone in your 'bubble'... Ideally whole families come but we know some have to work, so you can nominate an adult family member or carer to accompany the children. There will be crafts and fun and sports/games with our coaches for any children (or adults if numbers allow!) who want to join in., and we often have visits from Bethany Davey our drama coach; MIND, Citizens Advice Bureau, HarlowSave and others for both family fun and helpful advice and giveaways.
You will be given a freshly prepared nutritious meal (usually hot unless the weather is boiling!) On the booking form you can ask for food to takeaway for other family members.
Don't forget to let us know any special needs (allergies, other dietary requirements or anything else we need to know so we can best support you all and help everyone to have a good time!
We also offer help and support outside of school holidays where we can. This might be signposting people to other support agencies; or funding emergency items; and when we can working with other partners like Poverty Pound to deliver extra food boxes (Boxes of Hope).
You can also fill in the 'Contact Us" form below to ask for the help you need beyond attending the holiday clubs. We will do our best to assist you.
